The conspiracy to supply class C drugs took place over a period from April 17 to April 25 of this year. During the court hearing, Galea-Hughes and Rutherford appeared via video link from HMP Durham. In addition to the drug conspiracy charge, Galea-Hughes also pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified on two separate occasions earlier in the year. The defendants are scheduled to return to court for sentencing later this year, where they are likely to receive significant custodial sentences, despite receiving credit for their guilty pleas. Rutherford, Dunn, Freeman, and Galea-Hughes are all residents of different areas in Gateshead and Houghton, with a sentencing hearing set for Friday, September 6.
